Answers to your questions..
Frequently
Asked Questions
We have divided the FAQ into two chapters. Chapter One
is for the
consumer/music lover who wishes to know more about SuperSampler
cds and contests, etc. Chapter Two is for artists and will hopefully
answer their questions about submitting music to our program. If you
don't
find the answer(s) you need, please write to info@supersampler.com.

Chapter One...Consumer questions and Answers:

Why do you give cds away?
Because we can!

Can I have more than one free cd?
Theoretically, you can have as many free cds as you
want...however, we do
ask that you only take one for yourself. If you want to share one
with a friend, by all means, take one for your friend. If you become
a subscriber,
this only entitles you to ONE cd being sent to you for the subscription
price.
If you want more, you'll have to get one from a distribution point.

Can I sell my free cd?
Selling your free cd for profit would violate copyright
laws as well as the
agreement between Thrif-t-disc, Inc and the artists involved. The
cd, being
free, has no monetary value. It is not to be sold and anyone caught
trying
to sell these cds will be prosecuted according to applicable law.
Besides, why would you want to sell it???

Where can I get my next free cd?
Our distribution points are listed HERE.
These points may change, so
check back frequently for changes or join our email list for updates
and
changes.

Will you deliver it to my house?
ABSOLUTELY! For a small subscription fee to cover
postage and
handling costs, you can have a sampler sent to you every time we
release
one. Click HERE.

Chapter
Two...Artist questions and Answers:

What is the review process?
All music and art is to be reviewed and approved for
use
based on the following criteria:
a: Quality (must be quality recording ready to go to our master)
b: Quantity (individual song chosen must be 2-6 minutes in length)
c: Content (explicit lyrics not acceptable for many releases)
 | Return to top of page

Who decides what songs are used?
You may request a certain song off of your cd to
be used, but
Thrif-t-disc, Inc. will have the final decision as to which song
is
used. This decision will be based on the above criteria as well
as creative criteria pertaining to each individual sampler released.
 | Return to top of page

Who owns the material?
Your music is totally protected under copyright law
and belongs
to you, the artist. You will be authorizing us to use a particular
song on our compilation cd master. This is an equal trade here.
You are trading royalties for space on an advertising product which
is
primarily designed to gain exposure to the independent artist. You
will always own your songs, but we do own rights to the Super
Sampler release in it's compiled form.

Do you sell cds?
Currently, we aren't set up to sell cds, but we are
working on a few
theme compilation cds that will be sold on a retail basis, and for
inclusion on these projects, artists will be paid industry standard
royalties for their music. We are working on a full-fledged internet
store to include various Thrif-t-disc and SuperSampler merchandise
as well as artist releases and merchandise. Sign up for updates.

Can I submit more than one cd
release?
You may submit as much material as you like at any
given time. If you
submit materials before Jan. 1, 2001 there will never be a fee for
you.
All submissions after that date will be subject to a $25 fee. This
is
necessary simply because it is becoming a bigger job everyday to
review all the material submitted.
